Sharing resources, knowledge and skills across sectors to improve cultural education provision for children and young

Curious Minds are inviting you to join an in-person event for LCEPs on Thursday 3rd July at Kala Sangam in Bradford.

We’re inviting LCEPs from across the North of England to join us for this unique networking opportunity. The day will begin with refreshments from 10.30am and begin promptly at 11, aiming to close by 4.30pm at the latest.

Welcome by Jade Ibegbuna, Head of Cultural Partnerships at Bradford City Council

For the pre-lunch session we’ll be joined by members of Arts Council England’s Artsmark team who will be sharing some of the outcomes of their place-based action research programme, in which 5 LCEPs from across the country are strategic partners.

The research programme explores how schools can use the Artsmark framework to address specific challenges around SEND and rural isolation through cultural and creative activity. The Artsmark team will also invite discussion around place-based approaches to engaging schools with Artsmark and the usefulness of the framework to support schools in developing their cultural offer.

As part of a national series of Consensus Workshops, this afternoon session invites LCEP representatives to help shape a shared sector vision for the proposed National Centre for Arts and Music Education. The session is being delivered independently by Curious Minds and the Cultural Learning Alliance, and will be facilitated by Caz Brader. It aims to gather insight and ideas from across the region. These contributions will feed into a national set of sector-led recommendations that the CLA will share with the Department for Education in July, with the intention of informing and influencing the Centre’s development.

There will be time for networking and informal discussions throughout the day.
