Remembering Jude Bird

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our much-loved former colleague and friend, Jude Bird, after a short illness.

Jude was a straight-talking, generous and wise woman who made an incredible contribution to the field of cultural education in her lifetime.

The professional legacy of the time Jude dedicated to Curious Minds remains woven through much of our current work, in particular our SLiCE program, as well as in the schools, organisations, and individuals she supported and inspired. She was a dedicated mentor, a trusted advisor, a fierce advocate, and her impact will be felt for a long time to come.

Those who were lucky to have known her will remember her with great affection – not only for her professional legacy but for her warmth, humour, and unwavering belief in the power of culture to change lives.

One of the last things Jude did for Curious Minds was to produce a film about the impact of a long-term partnership in Ellesmere Port, to which she made an enormous contribution over many years.
