About Emma
Emma joined Curious Minds in 2016 where she is the Director of Education and Leadership.
In 2021, Emma was the Director of Sector Development where she led on the delivery of the Arts Council England Bridge Organisation programme, which included the leadership programmes, delivery of the Artsmark Award and the Local Cultural Education Partnerships (LCEP's). She currently leads on a range of areas Including: Education, Leadership and Creative Health and Wellbeing. She is a member of the GMCA Creative Health Working Group: Children and Young People.
Between 2002 and 2011, Emma Joined Knowsley Borough Council progressing to the role of Creative and Cultural Learning Manager where she was responsible for managing the delivery of the arts, cultural and creative educational programme within the Directorate of Education for Knowsley Borough Council in collaboration with local, regional, and national partners.
This included the management of the strategic development and implementation of Arts, Cultural and Creative Learning strand of the Knowsley Children’s and Young People’s Plan and delivery of School improvement support to schools for the arts, creative and cultural education which included the Creative Partnerships Programme, Artsmark and Find Your Talent.
She was a founder member and eventually Chair of the Arts Learning Consortium which was a regional network of local authorities, universities and cultural organisations that championed the entitlement of children and young people to high quality arts, creative and cultural learning opportunities.
Emma Studied Fine Art and a Secondary PGCE at Liverpool John Moore’s University and has worked as a secondary Teacher of Art and Design, a visiting Lecturer at Edge Hill University, a freelance Community Artist, trainer, and Creative Education Consultant.
